Changes

These are the changes in EMG 8.0.19 as compared to EMG 8.0.18. Due to the severity of the first two changes, we strongly recommend all users to upgrade to this version.

  1. Failures when sending a message could previously lead to both memory loss and memory corruption with various combinations of protocols and connector options. This has now been resolved.
  2. Unusually large packets of data could previously be truncated when being sent over the network. This could affect the EMG Portal as it wouldn’t get the full list of connectors, and incomplete messages being sent over HTTP and SMTP. The exact size limit depends on operating system parameters and more, but is probably in the order of 100 KB or more.
  3. Connector specific log levels now work correctly again. This has been broken since version 8.0.12.
  4. CSM improvements:
    • Improved error handling when used on HTTP connectors.
    • The connector option IDLETIMEOUT is now supported.

Known issue

One issue was identified after this release, but before 8.0.20 could be made available.

  • When using CSM on outgoing HTTP connectors, SATPOOL_CREATE does not work correctly.

However, if you’re upgrading from EMG 7 or earlier, please also take a look at the full installation guide, as you may also need a new Perl installation.
