Changes
These are the changes in EMG 8.1.4 as compared to EMG 8.1.3. It also contains the changes from the 8.0 branch up to version 8.0.25.
- The DB sections have a new optional parameter
KEEPALIVE=n. After an inactivity of n seconds, emgd will now run an SQL command such as “SELECT 1” on all existing connections on that database profile, in order to avoid getting disconnected by the server. This is an alternative to setting it on the MySQL server, which may not be possible. If the value is 0, keepalives are disabled. By defaultnis 887, which is a somewhat random number just below 900 (15 minutes). EMG still reconnects automatically when needed, but now this should occur more seldom. - There is a new section type,
SCHEDULE, which can be used on throttles and connectors. The syntax in both cases isSCHEDULE=name, on the thing they should control.- On
THROTTLEsections they control when the throttle should be active. Outside of the schedule, such throttles are pass-through. - On connectors, they limit when messages can be sent. This can be useful to avoid sending meeting reminders and similar things at night. Connectors with the
STATICoption will still connect, and incoming messages and delivery reports are still allowed.
- On
- The connector option
AUTOMATICTONNPInow also sets theTONandNPIvalues for the destination address, instead of just for the source address.
